The Garden of Love envisions a network of small, tethered hanging gardens, co-created with the community. Suspended above key streets, these floating canopies form a green corridor connecting major green spaces within the borough, allowing pollinators to move more freely. Each garden is a circular frame with fabric stretched across it, supporting the wildflowers above, while showcasing artwork created by local artists from below.
Our team sought to address this in the hopes of creating a stronger, more resilient environment for the non-human residents of the borough. Beyond benefiting wildlife, the canopies also provide shade and cooling in the summer months, improving the borough’s livability for all its residents—human and non-human alike.
